NCB Financial Group, through NCBJ and Guardian Group, committed J$250 million towards relief and restoration efforts following Hurricane Melissa.
Delivering Relief Where It’s Needed Most
In partnership with local and international organisations including UNICEF, American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ), Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), and Food For the Poor Jamaica (FFPJ), support is being delivered across key areas such as roof repairs and reconstruction, major infrastructure restoration, community relief through food and essential supplies, and agriculture and fisheries recovery.

Together with partner contributions, the Building a Better Jamaica Fund 2.0 represents a combined response valued at over J$450 million.
Hurricane Relief Activities

Farmers Relief – Litchfield, Trelawny
A total of 100 bags of fertilizer were donated to yam farmers, while 35 vouchers for baby chicks and feed were distributed to female farmers. In addition, 60 health checks were conducted for farmers in attendance, and 50 care packages were issued to residents of Wait A Bit and surrounding communities -
Kilmarnock Kids Christmas Treat – Kilmarnock, St. Elizabeth
Over 250 children received gifts, baked items, and beverages through the support of Wisynco and Yummy. Approximately 20 NCBees volunteered alongside Emprezz and the Talk Up Yout family to help manage the children and facilitate a range of engaging activities. -
Farmers and Fisheries Relief – Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth
Over 90 farmers and 100 fisherfolk benefited from livelihood support aimed at rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa. Farmers received vouchers to purchase fertilizer, seeds, and other essential inputs needed to revitalize their farms, while fisherfolk were provided with floats, lacing/binding wire, and nails to help rebuild fish pots destroyed by the hurricane. 110 care packages were distributed to residents of Black River and Payne Town in St. Elizabeth. Agricultural relief was provided to farmer Chris Hacker of Seaford Town, Westmoreland, whose farm was completely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. This support aims to help restore his livelihood and promote long-term recovery. -
JDF Christmas Children’s Treat
$250K was donated to support the Christmas Fair organized by the JDF for children in Maroon Town, St. James
